Quan Yin

Original Size: 80 cm x 60cm

She is the goddess of compassion, mercy, love, and heart medicine.

I’ve always had a strong resonance with Quan Yin.
There are many representations of her. I first painted her 2 years ago. She is the goddess of compassion, mercy, love, and heart medicine.

The most resonant story of her to me is one where she was born in the mountains in Asia, suffered great traumas as a child, and her family and fellow villagers were murdered. She also left to die, managed to survive, and lived many years in the jungle as a recluse away from humanity. During this time, she met Baba Ji, who became her teacher, building trust and learning to heal her traumas through mastering breathwork, mantras, energy healing, and meditation.

She was also a master of working with water and using water to heal the emotional body. The white peacock is often associated with her, representing rebirth and transformation. Her mantra, "Om mani Padme hum", translates to ‘praise the jewel of the lotus’, helping to release the oceans of samsaric sufferings, karma, and delusions. The lotus is a beautiful symbol of healing and is considered one of the most sacred plants on Earth.

With its roots in the mud, it submerges every night into the river water and miraculously reblooms every morning pristine, holding the symbolism of life, death, and reemergence.  It has been used in traditional Eastern medicine and other cultures for centuries.

The background of this painting is covered in lotus sutras, and you can see some of them peeking through. Connect with her through water rituals, meditation, breathwork, and the magenta ray, and she can help guide you through the darkness, offering compassion, love, forgiveness, and release from old stories.
